How we protect your data
Audio is never stored
On the web, your recording is transcribed as you speak and is never stored on our servers. Only the transcript and your notes remain.
Encryption at rest and in transit
All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and encrypted in transit using TLS. Your clinical data is protected at every stage, from your device to our servers and back.
Secure authentication
User accounts are protected with secure authentication. Each user can only access their own data - your clinical notes and patient information are never visible to other accounts.
AI processing
Audio and text are sent to specialised AI providers solely for transcription and note drafting, under commercial terms that forbid training on your data. Providers hold data at most transiently for security monitoring, then delete it.
Data stored in Australia
Your appointment records, transcripts, and notes are stored on Australian infrastructure. Clinical data stays onshore except while our AI providers process it.

Frequently asked questions
Are my appointment recordings stored?
On the web, no. Your audio is transcribed as you record and is never stored on our servers. In the mobile app, audio is held for up to 7 days so a recording can be recovered if something goes wrong, then permanently deleted. Either way, only the text transcript and your clinical notes stay in your account.
Who can see my patient data?
Only you. Each user's data is isolated to their account. Chairscribe staff access is limited to support and troubleshooting, restricted to authorised team members, and logged.
Is my data used to train AI models?
We use AI providers with enterprise agreements that prevent your data from being used for model training. Your patient information and clinical notes remain private.
What happens if I delete my data?
When you delete data from Chairscribe, it is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Remember to export anything your record-keeping obligations require you to keep.
